  • A Year in Review

The pandemic was in full swing so obviously there was a level of collective uncertainty for everyone. On top of that, I had no clue what I was going to do in terms of a career. I had some ideas though.
  • How Does Online Personal Training Work?

I remember scrolling through Instagram and looking at different accounts within the fitness world and seeing that people offering Online Coaching. I always wondered what it was. Obviously, it had to be a viable thing. I just had no idea how it was possible. And on top of that, there were coaches claiming to be making thousands per month all from their phone. Now I know.
  • Pregame for Goalkeepers: Calm and Collected or Amped Up?

In that moment, I dove but later when I watched the video, I was so rooted to the ground that I looked like I was moving in slow-motion. Then, I lost it. I was furious that we had just allowed that to happen.
  • Final Four (Part 5)

This is where it gets tough. Throughout writing this five-part blog, I watched every game, having watched the other games multiple times since they happened. I have only watched the National Championship once.
  • Final Four (Part 4)

The second I saw the ball hit the back of the net, I took off. I don’t even remember getting down the field, but I almost certainly covered 100 yards in no more than eight seconds. What a feeling.
  • Final Four (Part 3)

When I decided to write about this whole experience, I did not intend for it to be made up of multiple parts. But once I started, I realized that there was a lot more to write about than I originally thought. And still, I’ve left a lot out. Looking back to what was technically the second round (first round for us) of the national tournament against Notre Dame College, I remember the general vibe was “great we get an extra game”. As I mentioned before, the conference championship was our big goal that season and after coming up short, it almost felt like our season ended there. But it didn’t.
  • Getting Back into a Routine After Quarantine

Unless you are lucky enough to have a home gym (like me) or access to some kind of equipment, you might be one of the millions of people whose gym routine came to an abrupt halt in the early spring. Everyone with a fitness routine was forced to find some way to adapt.
  • Final Four (Part 2)

I was recruited by mostly Division III schools in high school. I didn’t play for a very high-level club. The high school I went to was not on the map for soccer, at least not since the 90s. I got to Pitt mostly because, like my year at West Chester, things just seemed to fall into place.
  • All Talk, No Action

When it comes to setting goals or setting out to do something, I feel it’s best to move in silence. There’s the Lil Wayne lyric, “Real G’s move in silence like lasagna,” yeah exactly. Save the “I’m going to do…” until it becomes “I’m doing…”
  • Final Four (Part 1)

Highmark Stadium sits in the shadow of Mt. Washington on the south shore of the Monongahela River. Built in 2012 on the same ground that used to house the Chevrolet Amphitheatre, Highmark Stadium became the new home of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. It gave soccer a presence in Pittsburgh.
  • Mental Fitness

You can squat 500 for reps and do 30 strict pull ups, but if you don’t sort out what’s going on in your head, what is all of that really worth?
  • How I Started

There will never be a time where you can never get more fit, more capable. There will always be more to do. To me, that’s exciting. I don’t go out and run a 6-minute mile and think “okay, I can check that box, now what?” I think, “next time, my goal is to do it in under 6 minutes.”
